Volkswagen Amarok EV Launch May Happen In 2025 – Details!

The new second-gen Volkswagen Amarok EV is currently being co-developed by VW and Ford.

The new second-gen Volkswagen Amarok EV is under development and is expected to launch in 2025. The second-gen Amarok pick-up truck will boast a pure electric powertrain instead of a hybrid version. The German carmaker in India is currently expanding its portfolio as a part of the India 2.0 strategy with the launch of the new Kushaq and the Virtus. Here are all the details that you should know about the launch of the new Volkswagen Amarok pick-up EV.

For starters, Volkswagen recently came into a Global Alliance partnership with Ford and has begun work on the all-electric second-gen Amarok EV. A number of reports suggest that this upcoming electric pick-up truck will continue to use the same body-on-frame chassis as the fourth-gen Ford Ranger. Ford is also working on introducing a new all-electric version of the Ranger. However, unlike the Ford Ranger, the upcoming Amarok will not be offered with a petrol-hybrid powertrain.

Volkswagen is currently focusing on expanding the electric portfolio and working in collaboration with Ford will help it keeps the costs in check. The Amarok’s Ford-developed chassis can easily accept the electric drivetrain and battery pack. While the brands are yet to share any details about the launch timeline of the new upcoming second-gen Volkswagen Amarok EV, it is expected that it will be produced alongside the new Volkswagen ID Buzz.

In India, VW is all set to launch the new Virtus sedan to take on the rivals like the Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, and the new Honda City. The brand also offers the new Taigun SUV, and the Tiguan SUV. The new ID.4 too is expected to make its debut soon in India.
