The All-New upcoming Mahindra XUV700 is ruling the automobile’s news headlines. In addition to this new-gen SUV will get a powerful and class-leading 185hp 2.2-liter diesel and a 200hp turbo petrol engine
The new-gen Mahindra XUV700 is very much expected to debut with a box full of best-segment features, and now we have a piece of knowledge about the headline figures on the spec sheet too. This three-row SUV will feature the most powerful petrol and diesel engines in its segment, with the inclusion of lots of techs and gizmos. The launch of this car is scheduled for around October 2021.
Mahindra XUV700 Design and Features
It is very much expected that the all-new XUV700 is based on its predecessor the XUV500. However, the car will have a more futuristic and modern look. The front fascia will be seen with an upright grille, new C-shaped headlights with unique LED DRLs, and also an attractive stylish LED tail-lamp design. The SUV will come with segment-first flush door handles as well.
Talking about the segment firsts, the equipment list is loaded with them, some of them are, a dual-screen infotainment and instrumentation binnacle, ADAS sensor-based driver aids, long-range adaptive headlamp beams, and more. Apart from these buyers will also get to choose from multiple textures and interior shade options, and three seating layouts – six and seven seats at launch, and five seats later on. It is also expected that the car will feature the biggest panoramic sunroof, an electronic parking brake, and drive modes.
Mahindra XUV700 Powertrain
As already mentioned, the XUV700 will offer the option of a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine or a 2.2-liter turbo diesel. With 200hp in the box, makes the car the most powerful iteration yet of Mahindra’s new ‘mStallion’ 2.0-litre turbo petrol, which made its debut under the hood of the THAR in 2020, where it puts out 150hp.
The new ‘mStallion’ engine was first seen at Auto Expo 2020 and uses all-aluminum blocks, and in the case of this particular engine, 350 bar direct injection. The car will mater either with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The 200hp output will make the XUV700’s 2.0 mStallion engine the most powerful petrol engine in the segment, talking about diesel engine, XUV700 will use a new evolution of Mahindra’s trusty 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, with the power output wound up to 185hp.
Mahindra XUV700 Price and Bookings
The XUV700 is one of the crucial launches for Mahindra in 2021. This car will make its world debut around the month of July, with bookings expected to open in August and a price announcement shortly after.
