The launch of Tata Harrier has taken the brand to another level. This offering from Tata is available in six trims: XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, and XZ. You will get a 5-seater layout with the Tata Harrier. A 2.0L diesel engine is seen in the Tata Harrier, which is capable enough to pump out 170bhp of power and 350nm of torque. The car comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Tata retails the SUV from Rs 14.29 lakh to 20.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Kia Seltos was the very first offering from the brand Kia in the Indian market. Kia Seltos is offered in two trims: Tech (HT) Line and GT Line, and you can choose from five different variants: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+. The Kia Seltos too offers a 5-seater layout like the other cars of the segment. The car can be seen in three engine options: 1.5L petrol which can pump out 115bhp and 144nm, 1.4L turbocharged petrol which can pump 140bhp and 242nm and a 1.5L diesel which can pump 115bhp and 250nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard with all three engines. It also gets optional automatic transmissions: a 7-speed DCT (1.4L turbo-petrol), a CVT (1.5L petrol), and a 6-speed torque converter unit (1.5Ldiesel). The 1.5L petrol engine also gets a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) gearbox. The Seltos is priced between Rs 9.95 lakh to 17.85 lakh (ex-showroom)
The all-new generation of Hyundai Creta definitely pumped the sales of the previous version of the Creta. It is available in five variants: E, EX, S, SX, and SX (O). A total of five people can be seated in Creta like the other cars of the segment. The car shares the same engine options like the Kia Seltos: 1.5L petrol which can pump out 115bhp and 144nm, 1.4L turbocharged petrol which can pump 140bhp and 242nm, and a 1.5L diesel which can pump 115bhp and 250nm. A 6-speed manual transmission comes standard with 1.5L petrol and diesel engines. While the petrol motor gets a choice of a CVT, the diesel engine is offered with an optional 6-speed torque converter. The 1.4L turbo-petrol comes with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) only. Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Renault Duster has got the most powerful turbocharged engine in the segment. The standard Duster is available in two variants (RXS and RXZ) and Duster Turbo comes in three (RXE, RXS, and RXZ). You will see two engine options with the Renault Duster: a 1.5L petrol unit which pumps 106bhp and 142nm and a 1.3L turbo petrol engine which pumps 156bhp and 254nm. However, the 1.5L petrol is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and the 1.3L turbo petrol is mated to a6-speed manual transmission and an optional 7-step CVT. Renault has priced the SUV between Rs9.73 lakh and Rs 14.12 lakh (ex-showroom).
