2020 Honda City Launch Details Confirmed; Launch Scheduled Post Lockdown

The Fifth-Gen 2020 Honda City will rival cars such as the Hyundai Verna and will be launched in the country once the lockdown is lifted.

The 2020 Honda City BS6 Fifth gen was all set to be launched in the Indian market but the launch got affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 City gets BS6 petrol and diesel engines and is one of the most awaited sedan sin the mid-size sedan segment.

The 2020 Honda City BS6 sold in the Thailand market scored a 5 Star Global NCAP rating and we expect the Indian model to score similar ratings too. As per the reports, Honda is planning to launch the 2020 Honda City BS6 Fifth-gen as soon as the lockdown is lifted completely. The deliveries however will be delayed as the production units have limited operations.

The Japanese car maker has also confirmed that the current, forth-gen Honda City will continue to be sold as a taxi variant once the 2020 City is launched and will be powered by a 1.5-L petrol motor only. The fifth gen City has undergone a number of changes over the outgoing model. The car is not only longer and wider but gets refreshed styling and a newly laid out dashboard design.

The 2020 Honda City BS6 is also expected to be feature loaded and will get a 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Appple Carplay and Android Auto. The cabin gets a dual tone, beige and black colour scheme for the Indian market on the standard trims. In addition, the car also gets features such as lane watch camera assist and a 7.0-inch TFT MID with G-Force meter which makes the car boast some segment first features.

In terms of safety too, the car is expected to be fully loaded. The 2020 City will be rivaling against the cars such as the Maruti Ciaz, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna and the Toyota Yaris.
