The new Tata Safari 2021 bookings will commence from February 4, 2021. Six variants of the Safari will be on sale at the time of launch.

The new Tata Safari 2021 will be launched in the Indian market on February 4 and will be available in six variants – XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, and XZ+. Just like the Harrier, the new Safari is also based on the Land Rover-derived Omega ARC platform but is longer by 63 mm when compared to the Harrier in order to accommodate the third row of seating. In addition to this, the Safari will be available in 6-seat as well as 7-seat configuration. Read on to find more details about the car.

New Tata Safari 2021

For starters, the Tata Safari gets a single-engine option at the time of the launch which includes a 2.0-L turbo-diesel engine that churns out 170 PS while the peak torque output stands at 350 Nm. This engine can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. It is worth noting that the brand is not offering 4WD option with the Safari.

Moving on to the exteriors, the Safari is longer and taller when compared to the Harrier and also comes with a different grille to differentiate it from its smaller sibling. In addition to this, the car gets R-18 alloy wheels as against the R-17 tyres on the Harrier. The new Safari also gets a completely different tailgate design and a larger rear-quarter glass. In all, the new Safari looks great and has a massive road presence.

Another important change in the Safari has been reserved for the interiors. The new Safari gets a black and beige interior colour scheme which makes the cabin look bright and premium. The Harrier on the other hand gets a black-brown combination on the standard models while the Dark Edition gets an all-black cabin. Moreover, the new Safari can be had with a 7-seat layout or with a 6-seat layout that features captain seats in the middle row. The top-spec trim is offered with features such as side and curtain airbags, hill-descent control, HID headlamps, connect car tech, 9-speaker JBL audio system, a larger panoramic sunroof, etc.
