Tata Tiago CNG Mileage Test
The Tata Tiago CNG fuel economy run started from the CNG pump station where we filled the CNG tank of the car to the maximum. Following this, the trip meter was reset and our journey began. On our first leg of the journey, the average speeds were low as we encountered lots of traffic. The Tiago CNG however was performing brilliantly well and I had no issues with the performance. Not only is the performance decent, but the driving experience inside the city too was impressive. A light clutch and strong-low end meant that driving this CNG hatchback was stress-free in stop-go traffic.

Soon after crossing Delhi, we found open roads as we moved towards the famous Delhi-Agra Expressway. Open roads and a powerful CNG engine not only made our drive stress-free and fun, but I was also able to push the Tiago CNG to its limits. The acceleration was fairly decent considering the CNG standards while the driving experience too was smooth. Midway into our journey, we took a U-Turn towards Delhi. After covering 204 kms on the road, we went to the same CNG station to refill the car.
During the CNG refill, the car took in 5.6kg of CNG. Simple calculations reveal that the Tiago CNG returned a tested mileage of almost 35kg/km which was definitely impressive for a car of this size. For those wondering, the Tata Tiago CNG is powered by a 1.2-L Revotrol engine that churns out 73.4PS and 95Nm. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
