Upcoming Honda Electric SUV – Top Things To Know

Honda is currently working on two new SUVs for India while another electric SUV might also make it to the showrooms soon

With SUVs now getting extremely popular and customers preferring feature-rich and powerful vehicles, a number of car manufacturers are updating their portfolio in the country. Honda is also working on launching a number of new SUVs for the Indian market including a new compact electric SUV. This new electric SUV is expected to boast a 400+ km range and here are all the details you should know.

New Honda Electric SUV In India

While Honda has still not shared many details about this new electric SUV, many reports suggest that it will be offered with a large battery pack that will help it boast a claimed range of over 400 km on a single charge. In addition to this, this new compact electric SUV is expected to be offered with a single motor setup as a front-wheel-drive setup as standard.

We are also expecting that Honda might utilise the same platform that underpins the Honda Amaze for this new upcoming compact electric SUV. This new electric SUV will be made for India and will boast a strong road presence in addition to premium styling. Features like LED headlamps, dual-cut alloy wheels, LED taillights, etc are expected to be offered with this upcoming electric SUV.

Inside, this new Honda electric SUV will offer a premium dashboard layout and will boast features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, a new digital instrument console, automatic climate control, rear-AC vents, auto-dimming IRVMs, and more. Needless to say, the quality levels will be better than most of the rivals while the in-cabin comfort and experience are also expected to be better than the rivals. More details about the features however are yet to be known.

Honda is expected to officially unveil this new SUV somewhere in 2024 and is likely to position it aggressively in the market. The Japanese carmaker is also working on launching a new compact SUV to take on the rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and other sub-4m offerings in India. Another midsize SUV to take on the rivals like the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos will also be launched in late 2023.
