Things To Know About Hyundai Exter Micro-SUV
Hyundai Exter Petrol Variants
The Hyundai Exter comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine under its hood, the same one that powers its stablemates, the Aura, Venue, i20, and Grand i10 Nios. This engine would be offered in the EX, S, SX, SX (O), and top-spec SX (O) Connect trims. All of these trims, except the EX, will get the option of an AMT gearbox. For those wondering, the 1.2-litre petrol engine churns out 83 HP of power and 114 NM of torque.

Hyundai Extender CNG Variants
The Exter micro-SUV would be available with an optional factory-fitted CNG kit. This option would be available for S and SX variants with a manual gearbox. For now, there is no option to pair a CNG variant with an AMT gearbox. Having said this, the Hyundai Exter CNG will be powered by a 69 BHP 1.2-L engine with a claimed peak torque output of 95.2 Nm.
Hyundai Exter Paint shades
Upon launch, the entire Exter lineup will come in six monotone exterior paint shades: Atlas White, Cosmic Blue, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Titan Grey, and Ranger Khaki. Three dual-tone colours based on Atlas White, Cosmic Blue, and Ranger Khaki would be exclusive to the petrol trims of the micro-SUV, while we will have no dual-tone options for the CNG variants.

Hyundai Exter Design and Features
Previously thought to be based on the internationally available Hyundai Casper, Exter is an entirely new product. It is underpinned by a localized Ai3 platform, something it shares with the Grand i10 Nios hatch and Aura sedan. While the brand is yet to share the actual pictures, the spied snaps from Exter revealed its looks. This boxy micro-SUV will boast an upright stance, which gives it a rugged appeal when coupled with its high ground clearance. It will also get a split headlamp setup with an H-patterned LED, a sporty faux silver skid plate, projector headlamps, and a contrasting black grill.
The Hyundai Exter features list is likely to include Bluelink, a reverse parking camera, a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, rear AC vents, and Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

Hyundai Exter Launch Date, Price, and Rivals
As of now, there are no words on when Hyundai’s smallest SUV will be available for purchase. But according to speculation, the expected launch would be in the latter part of July or early August. While the official prices are yet to be revealed, we are expecting the Hyundai Exter price in India to start from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). For now, the Hyundai Exter bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
In terms of competition, there are many SUVs that will compete with the Exter, including the Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. But the micro-SUV will be placed first and foremost as a Tata Punch rival. The two micro-SUVs have similar looks, dimensions, and high ground clearance, making them a solid choice for anybody who is in a market for a small SUV.
