The new Kia EV6 will be available in two variants – RWD and AWD.
Kia Motors India launched its first electric car in India – the Kia EV6. To be brought into the currently via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route into the country, the Kia EV6 not only attracts a higher tax slab but is significantly more expensive when compared to the upcoming 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5. Having said this, the 2022 Kia EV6 price in India starts from Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base, RWD variant. Here are all the details that you should check out about this new sporty electric SUV in India.
To start with, the Kia EV6 will only be sold via 15 select Kia dealerships across 12 cities in the country. In 2022, only 100 units of the Kia EV6 have been allocated to India. While the bookings are open online for an initial sum of Rs 3 lakh only, cancelling the booking will cost you Rs 50,000. The EV6 is based on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The same platform will be used in a number of upcoming Kia electric cars in the market.

Moving on, the Kia EV6 is offered with a 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack and can be had with either RWD or AWD drivetrain. The RWD variant of the EV6 gets a single motor setup with a claimed power output of 226 bhp. The AWD variant on the other hand boasts a dual-motor setup that churns out a total power output of 321 bhp. The claimed range (WLTP cycle) of the Kia EV6 is mentioned below:
- Kia EV6 RWD Range: 528km
- Kia EV6 AWD Range: 425km
For those wondering, the EV6 is offered with a smart regenerative braking system. The brand is offering two charging options with the EV6 – a 150kWH and 350kWh unit. While the 150kWh charger takes 42 mins to charge the battery pack to 80% from 10%, the 350kWh charger can do the same in just 18 mins! The following driving modes will be offered with the Kia EV6:
- Normal
- Sport
- Eco

On the features front, the Kia EV6 is offered with a dual 12.3-inch curved display setup, Augment Reality (AR) HUD, 14-speaker Meridian Sound SYstem, electric sunroof, powered tailgate, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), connected car tech, electronically adjustable seats, 8 airbags, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, and more. Other features like automatic climate control, LED headlamps, push-button start, auto-dimming IRVM, steering mounted controls, etc are also on offer.
