Maruti Suzuki Alto has there been in the market for so long time and is the favorite car of many Indians for many reasons. The car consumes low fuel and is very pocket and budget-friendly are the two main reasons that why this car has a special place in the hearts of people in India. This car could be termed as the perfect car for middle-class family.
As per our sources and some news, the company has been working on the new-gen model of the car for more than a year. Numerous times the new-gen Alto has been spotted testing on Indian roads at different places.

Earlier the company planned to introduce the car to the market in mid-2021. However, the company now has postponed the launch of the new-gen Alto to next year that is in 2022. There’s still no news that why did the company take this decision, however, it is said that the company took such a decision keeping in mind about the ongoing pandemic “COVID-19”.
With the help of some spy shots and sightings of the new-gen Alto, we can say that the car is likely to retain its overall shape and size with short overhangs at both ends. The car will be seen with a slight change in its dimensions with a revised front end featuring a new grille and bumper.

It is expected that the car will get a sport redesigned rear section with a new design of the taillamps. The rear hatch release will be positioned in the center as in the current version of the car. Having identical changes, the new-gen Alto will likely feature a noticeably longer bonnet in profile. Adding to it the wheelbase will be increased slightly as compared to the current model.
If we have a look at its features, it might get a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, power windows, keyless entry, and a new instrument cluster. New-gen Alto will be based on the Heartect platform underpinning other Maruti models like Wagon R, S-Presso, and also the Upcoming new-gen Celerio.
Coming to the engine department, it will be powered by the same 796cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that will pump 48bhp and 69 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired with the 5-speed manual gearbox and will get a more powerful 1-L engine with 5 MT as well as an AMT option. CNG option will also be on offer.
