The Hyundai Venue-rivalling Maruti Brezza is only available with a petrol mild-hybrid powertrain
Maruti recently launched the new Brezza in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base, LXI variant. The new Brezza features a long list of updates including a new front fascia, new features, and an updated mild-hybrid powertrain. Four variants of the Maruti Brezza are currently on sale – LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. Having said this, the cars have started arriving at the dealers’ yards and here are some first-look photos of the Brave Khaki coloured 2022 Maruti Brezza VXI that you should check out if you are planning to buy this compact SUV soon. For starters, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXI is available in six colour options – Brave Khaki, Splendid Silver, Sizzling Red, Exuberant Blue, Pearl Arctic White, and Magma Grey. It is worth noting that no dual-tone options are being offered with the VXI variant while the higher trims only get a dual-tone finish with the Brave Khaki colour option. This colour is however not available for those opting for the base, LXi variants. The VXI variant also misses out on alloy wheels, roof rails, and silver skid plates.

With the 2022 Maruti Brezza VXI price starting from Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the buyers do get supreme value for money as this iteration of the Brezza is available with a long list of features that make it a practical car for everyday usage.
The Brezza is only offered with a single powertrain option – 1.5L K15C Smart Hybrid petrol. This engine boasts a peak power output of 75.8 kW @ 6000 rpm while the maximum torque on the other hand stands at 136.8 Nm @ 4400 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox comes as standard with this engine while the buyers can also opt for the new 6-speed torque converter unit for ease of driving. Features like Idle Start-Stop, Brake Energy Regeneration, and Torque Assist During Acceleration are offered as a standard part of the package.

On the design front, the Brezza gets bold styling while the old-boxy layout has been retained. Prominent changes at the front include new headlights, a new chrome grille, and a revised bumper with faux skid plates. While the higher variants get LED headlights, the Brezza VXI is only offered with halogen projector lamps. The rear too gets some major updates with new LED tail lights dominating the whole look. The Brezza branding sits right in the centre and in all, the updates have made the Brezza a much better-looking SUV.
Inside, the new Brezza now gets a new dashboard layout and features many other updates including a flat-bottom steering wheel, digital instrument console, wireless charging, a large sunroof holder, etc. Other important features like height-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, wireless charging, push-button start, etc are also on offer with the new Brezza.

For those wondering, the Brezza is also available with a 17.78 cm Smart Play Studio infotainment system that gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition to this, it also gets a remote control app, Over The Air Updates (OTA), Onboard Voice Assistant, Bluetooth Connectivity, and AKRAMYS premium sound setup. The Suzuki Connect features include emergency alerts, breakdown notification, stolen vehicle notification and tracking, immobilizer request, geofence, safe time alerts, remote AC, door lock, Smartwatch connectivity, and Suzuki Connect Skills for Amazon Alexa. Other tracking and vehicle status alerts are also available.

- ZXI – Rs 10.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

- VXI AT – Rs 10.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
- ZXI AT – Rs 12.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
- ZXI+ AT – Rs 13.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
