The new next-gen 2022 Maruti Alto K10 is making a comeback after a long gap and will be positioned alongside the Maruti S-Presso in the brand’s line-up. Once launched, the 2022 Alto will take on the rivals like the Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid, and its own siblings like the Maruti Celerio, Maruti WagonR, and the Maruti S-Presso. New 2022 Maruti Alto K10 Vs Maruti Celerio – Design And Dimensions

The new-gen Alto K10 will feature an updated exterior design that might remind you of the new Celerio. For starters, the new Alto K10 will feature a new front grille and a larger air dam flanked by swept-back headlights on either side. The side profile will be similar but will be taller than before. The rear too falls in the line with the overall design and looks elegant and subtle. The new Alto will measure 3530mm in length, 1490mm in width, and 1520mm in height. In addition to this, the new Alto K10 will now be underpinned by the Heartect platform that is also utilised in other Maruti cars.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio on the other hand too offers an elegant and bold design. The Celerio however is larger than the Alto K10 and measures 3695mm in length, 1655mm in width, and 1555mm in height. The wheelbase too is larger by 55mm and measures 2435mm. The car features a smooth flowing design language with prominent curves and more rounded styling elements.

Engine, Gearbox, And Performance

Both, the Maruti Alto K10 and the Maruti Celerio will be offered with a similar 1.0L K10C petrol engine. This engine churns out a peak power output of 66 Ps and 89 Nm in the Celerio and is available either with a 5-speed manual or an AMTgearbox. This engine is also available in a CNG version and churns out a peak power and torque output of 56 PS and 82.1 Nm respectively. The CNG version is however only available with a five-speed manual gearbox.

The new Alto K10 is expected to be the most fuel-efficient petrol hatchback in India. The claimed 2022 Maruti Alto K10 petrol mileage is expected to be around 25-27 kmpl for the manual variants while the automatic on the other hand will be around 26 kmpl. The Celerio has a claimed mileage of 25-26.68 kmpl depending on the variant and gearbox you opt for.
