The new Simple One electric scooter takes on the rivals like the Ola S1 and the Ather 450X

When it comes to switching to clean energy, there is one segment of automotive that is leading the way, scooters! Not only the global players but also many Indian startups have dipped their toes into the growing electric two-wheelers market in India. One such homegrown brand is Simple Energy. The Bengaluru-based startup recently launched its first product, the Simple One Electric Scooter. Even though the company showcased it more than a year ago, the EV was far from being complete. Here are 5 things that you need to know about the Simple One electric Scooter.

2023 Simple One Scooter Electric Scooter – Top 5 Things To Know!

Simple One Looks And Design

When it comes to looks and design, Simple One electric scooter takes a traditional approach. This electric scooter looks sleek and sporty, just like many of its ICE counterparts and might remind you of the Ather from many angles. The design looks fresh without coming out as too radical or exaggerated. On the front, it features triangular LED headlights that are placed just below the LED DRLs.

Seats on the Simple One are large and comfortable, easily accommodating two for a daily commute. One of the biggest highlights of the Simple One electric scooter is the massive 30-litre boot space which could be accessed by lifting the seats. Overall, the design seems to have little change since it was first revealed in August 2021, on the same day as the Ola S1 and S1 Pro.

The scooter also supports fast charging at the rate of 1.5km/min up to 80 percent. The brand is still developing the fast-charging network.

For those wondering, the claimed SimpleOne range stands at 212 km with 6 percent SOC left. The scooter is powered by a permanent magnet motor with a claimed 8.5 kW of peak power and 4.5 kW continuous power output while the peak torque produced is claimed to be 72 Nm.
