The Honda City Hybrid will be the only hybrid mid-size sedan on sale in Indian market and will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Virtus and the Skoda Slavia.

The new Honda City Hybrid will go on sale in India on May 4, 2022. To be sold in a single flagship ZX variant only, the City e:HEV will be the most fuel-efficient mid-size sedan in the country and is likely to be priced around Rs 22-25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Having said this, here are all the details about the new Honda City Hybrid that we know so far.

Only One Variant!

The Honda City e:HEV will only have a single ZX variant on sale in the country. This flagship variant will come loaded with a long list of bells and whistles while it will feature minimal cosmetic updates. Some of the features on offer with this variant include an updated 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TMPS), ambient lighting, electric sunroof, and connected car tech, and more.

2022 Honda City Hybrid Safety Features

The Honda City Hybrid will be the first car in India to feature the Honda Sensing Suite. Regarded as one of the most advanced active safety tech packs, the Honda Sensing Suite comprises of adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking. In addition to this, the car also gets other safety features like six airbags, ABS, EBD, seat belt reminders, and more.

e:HEV Powertrain

The Honda City Hybrid is powered by an Atkinson Cycle 1.5-L, four-cylinder engine. This engine comes mated to two electric motors and the complete setup boasts a peak power and torque output of 126 hp and 253 Nm respectively. While the first motor acts as a generator, the other motor is used for propulsion. This powertrain is mated to an eCVT transmission while the battery pack is placed in the boot.

Honda City Hybrid Mileage

The Honda City Hybrid boasts a claimed fuel economy figure of 26.5 kmpl. This real-life Honda City Hybrid mileage however is expected to be somewhere around 18-20 kmpl in dense city traffic while you can easily expect over 25 kmpl on the highways. The only electric mode in start/stop traffic ensures that the Honda City Hybrid returns impressive mileage figures.

Honda City Hybrid Bookings And Delivery

The bookings for the new Honda City Hybrid commenced a few days ago and the buyers interested in buying this new hybrid sedan can contact the nearest dealer for more booking details. The deliveries on the other hand are expected to start from mid-May 2022.
