Honda is working on launching its electric portfolio in the country and recently confirmed that the first Honda electric scooter in India will be launched in FY2024. Based on an all-new electric platform, this new scooter is expected to be offered with a fixed battery and hub motor, more details of which are yet to be known. Having said this, here are all the details you should know about the upcoming Honda electric scooter in India. Upcoming Honda Electric Scooter In India
Honda is currently one of the biggest two-wheeler companies in the country and will be utilising a new dedicated platform for all its upcoming electric scooters in India. The Japanese company will also be manufacturing all the new EVs at a separate factory which is currently being set up at its Narsapura plant in Karnataka. The brand earlier filed new patents for a fixed battery and hub motor which indicates that the upcoming Honda electric scooter (internally codenamed the Honda GJNA) will be positioned as a mid-range electric scooter with a fixed battery setup. Furthermore, we are also expecting Honda to name its first EV in India the Activa EV.
The brand will also be launching another electric scooter after the launch of the Activa electric scooter in the country. This new electric scooter is expected to feature a swappable battery setup. The brand will also be setting up multiple battery-swapping points in the near future. Internally codenamed the Honda K4BA, this new electric scooter will boast a lightweight and compact footprint, thus making it a great city commuter. More details about this upcoming electric scooter are yet to be shared by Honda in India.

Honda is also working on setting up its charging infrastructure in the country and will be setting up more than 6000+ touchpoints and charging stations across the country in multiple phases. It is also worth noting the fact that the brand aims at using made-in-India batteries and motors along with other crucial components in their upcoming electric scooters in India.
Once launched in the country, the new Honda Activa EV will take on the rivals like the TVS i-Qube, Ather 450X, Ola S1 electric scooter, and other mid-range electric scooters in India. We are expecting the Honda Activa EV price in India to start from Rs 1-1.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base-spec version.
