Ever since its launch in 2019, Kia Seltos has been a hot favourite among Indian customers with almost 3 lakh units of the compact SUV sold in just 3 years of its debut. Already available in the global market since 2022, the facelifted variant of the car is expected to launch in India this year in July with many new features, including a panoramic sunroof. Here are the top things we know so far about the upcoming 2023 Kia Seltos facelift.

  • No Significant Changes To The Price List
  • New 1.5-L Turbo GDi Engine
  • To Be Offered With ADAS

2023 Kia Seltos Facelift To Get A Panoramic Sunroof

Over the years, the sunroof has emerged as one of the most demanded features among Indian car buyers with panoramic sunroof being the most desirable of the lot. Many of the Selto’s rivals, including its stable mate Hyundai Creta already come loaded with one. While the existing models do come with an option of a single sunroof, the new Kia Seltos facelift will get a panoramic sunroof to the list of goodies. Recently, a production-ready test mule of Seltos featured a panoramic sunroof as seen in the spied pictures.

In terms of design, apart from a few cosmetic changes, the upcoming Seltos will remain similar to the existing model. However, there are a few notable changes inspired by the Kia Carnival. Regarding frontal profile, the 2023 Seltos facelift will get redesigned headlights and grill with redesigned daytime running LEDs placed slightly lower than before.

The most distinguishing visual change for the facelift comes in the back with the full LED tail lights now connected by a lightbar that wears the Seltos badge. In addition to this, the Seltos will get redesigned alloy wheels, with an option of 18-inch wheels on the X-line trim.

2023 Kia Seltos Interiors And Features

Inside, the upcoming Kia Seltos facelift might not look much different from the outgoing model at first glance. However, closer inspection reveals the updates received by the new model. The two connected 10.25-inch displays are now curved, similar to the EV6. Apart from this, the gear lever will now be a rotatory knob instead of the traditionally styled one found in the existing Seltos.

The upcoming Seltos will also get a host of new features apart from the panoramic sunroof. These include ADAS with lane assist, a heads-up display and a 360-degree camera. The South Korean manufacturer will continue to offer six airbags as standard in all trims, along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

2023 Kia Seltos Powertrain and Rivals

From what we know so far, the existing performance-oriented, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol is likely to go away in favour of the bigger 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. We saw the same engine being introduced with a number of other Hyundai cars like the new Verna and the Alcazar. This new upgrade will boost both power and torque, from the current 140 BHP and 242 NM to 160 BHP and 253 NM. As for the other engine options, the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will carry forward the existing model’s 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine.

When it comes to rivals, the Kia Seltos will go up against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq as well as the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross. But the most notable 2023 Kia Seltos facelift rival is none other than its cousin, Hyundai Creta, which remains the king of the mid-size SUVs in the Indian market.
